Even though he was a tough trainer, Lewis is such a good guy. And he played a large role in her growing confidence and development. Even though the book suffered a bit from insta-love, or at the very least insta-lust, he was still a great trainer for her. He was training her for the Mudder competition and he certainly did not ever let her off easy. Jules Barnard did a great job really fleshing out her character and giving her am impressive amount of character growth. But she really grows a lot as the story progresses. After this incident with her jerk of a boss (Sidenote: ooh I want punch his lights out!) she lost a bit of herself it seemed. One of the most satisfying things about Blue Crush was watching Gen come into herself and gain some confidence. I have to admit these contests seem intense, but fun! I want to enter one. She enters into a mudders contest to kind of prove herself. She had spunk, and she sure is a hard worker.

Gen was a character in the first book as well. Blue Crush is the story of Gen and Lewis.

I was able to understand the story just fine by reading Blue Crush on it's own but, I can't help but think I was missing some subtlety, hints and context from the first book. I didn't read the first book in the series, but I kind of wish that I did.

New Blue (Blue Series #5) - Hayden & Adamīlue Crush is the second book in the Blue Series, and it can be read as a standalone. True Blue (Blue Series #3) - Mira & Tylerīlue Streak: A Blue Series Novella (Blue Series #4) - Nessa & Zach And in my daydreams I'm tempted to act on them.ĭespite the logical, safe reasons I should stay away from Lewis, I'm afraid he's the one guy this good girl can't resist.Īll books in the Blue Series are stand-alone stories that can be read in any order.ĭeep Blue (Blue Series #1)- Cali & Jaegerīlue Crush (Blue Series #2) - Gen & Lewis I've always been shy, yet somehow this guy has me thinking naughty thoughts. Lewis volunteers to train me for a gritty endurance race I hope will build my self-esteem, but as soon as we start spending time together, we approach the thin line between friendship and something more. Until he makes me an offer I can't refuse. That should make it easy for me to stay away from him. Whatever it is Lewis has with this other girl, it's complicated, and I don't want to get dragged down. What I thought was a relationship might not be. He's also in a relationship and off-limits. Lewis isn't only gorgeous-he's a protector, an athlete, and the kind of quietly powerful guy who draws people to him. But forever doesn't last long, because the first time I see HIM at a party, he takes my breath away, along with my good sense. I've been burned too many times, and my cheating ex-boyfriend finally has me swearing off men forever.
